Separating top and bottom of Model 19 for easier shipping

Hi Everyone,

Is it possible and easy to separate the top horn section cabinet from the bottom woofer section cabinet on the Model 19 and Model 14 to make it easier and less costly to ship them by freight or by FedEx? 150 lbs is the usual maximum weight for shipping, and the Model 19 weighs 143lbs without packaging.

Separating the top from the bottom would bring the individual weights below 150 lbs and make packing for shipment easier. Does anyone know the individual weight of the top and bottom cabinet?

I know the Model 19s come apart without too much work and I think the 14s are a similar design. There are two vertical bolts, one on the left, one on the right that hold the upper and lower cabinet sections together. You'll need to remove the horn and/or bass driver to access the bolts. As for weight I think the Model 19 sections divide the weight about 1/3 - 2/3. Just about what their appearance would indicate.
